CSA

Coordinated Design.
Built on Solid Foundations.

ppa provides integrated Civil, Structural & Architectural support as part of our wider design and turnkey delivery offering. Working closely with our established partners, we help coordinate the built environment from below-ground infrastructure through to structural interfaces and architectural design requirements.

Our CSA service supports clients with joined-up coordination across civil works, structural design, architectural layouts and MEP integration. From below-ground services coordination and structural design input through to architectural support and spatial planning, we help ensure every discipline is aligned, buildable and ready for delivery.

CSA Overview

Our Civil, Structural & Architectural support bridges the gap between engineering design, building structure and architectural coordination. We work with trusted specialist partners to ensure below-ground services, foundations, structural elements, plant zones, risers, façades and service routes are properly coordinated from the earliest design stages.

Where projects require multi-disciplinary coordination, ppa provides a single, integrated point of support, managing interfaces between MEP, civil, structural and architectural teams. This approach reduces coordination risk, improves buildability and supports clear, efficient delivery across complex data centre, commercial and infrastructure-led projects.

Below-Ground Coordination

  • Coordination of the below-ground services routes and infrastructure corridors

  • Drainage, utilities, and external services interface coordination

  • Foundation, trenching, and service penetration coordination

  • Coordination with site levels, access routes, and enabling works

  • Early identification of clashes between buried services and structural elements

Structural & Architectural Design Support

  • Structural design coordination through established specialist partners

  • Coordination of plant support, roof plant, gantries and major equipment loads

  • Architectural layout support for plant rooms, risers and service zones

  • Façade, louvre, roof and external plant interface coordination

  • Design support to ensure MEP systems are integrated within the building envelope

Partner-Led Delivery & Interface Management

  • Collaboration with trusted civil, structural, and architectural partners

  • Design interface management across MEP, CSA, fire, planning and specialist teams

  • Review and integration of partner design information into the wider project model

  • Support with coordinated design information for planning, tender, and construction

  • Practical buildability review to reduce site risk and abortive works

Design Process

Concept & Feasibility

Review of the client brief, site constraints and early CSA requirements. Initial below-ground, structural and architectural coordination risks are identified.

Schematic Design

Development of coordinated civil, structural and architectural strategies, including below-ground services, plant locations, risers, structural interfaces and architectural layouts.

Detailed Design

Detailed coordination with partner teams to resolve interfaces between MEP systems, structure, below-ground infrastructure and architectural design.

IFC Documentation

Coordinated construction information issued with clear CSA and MEP interface details, supporting a buildable design with reduced ambiguity on site.
